FAQ
The WalletConnect Certified program provides a simple way for users to see which wallets in the WalletConnect ecosystem meet the highest standards for reliability, usability, security and interoperability. To become certified, wallets must meet a range of criteria that expands periodically in new seasons of the program, ensuring past certified wallets still meet the latest criteria for excellence.
No, there isn't a fee for certification. Any wallet may apply for and receive certification for free as long as they meet the requirements.
Certified Wallets must all meet the most recent season's requirements for certification. If a wallet fails to meet the requirements within a specified time period, it will lose its certification. This is to ensure the standard of the Certification program remains high. Before removing a wallet's certification, we will work with its team to ensure they have ample chance to meet the new standards.
Certification takes longer with some wallets than others, depending on how far off the latest season's criteria the wallet is. Typically, it will take two to three weeks, as meeting the criteria means integrating certain features from the WalletConnect ecosystem. To help you meet the deadline for each season, the WalletConnect team will run QA with yours.
You can find the latest season's requirements in our latest WalletConnect certified blog post. Currently, we're on Season 3 of WalletConnect certified. If you're working for a wallet that was previously certified and you only need to meet the new requirements, visit the docs page to see what's new.
