Wallets and businesses both need one thing before they can do anything onchain: a dependable way to connect to each other. Without a single method for connection, every team must integrate wallets, apps and chains they want to support separately.
WalletConnect Connectivity solves this once, for everyone. It links 700+ wallets and 80,000+ apps and countless exchanges, fintech and institutions— across all major blockchains through a single integration on each side. Not only that, but all other WalletConnect products build upon that base: first comes connectivity, then payments and compliance sit on top of that foundation.
But how does it work exactly and how does a wallet, app or institution access the network?
Here is how connectivity works, who it is for, and how to pick the right entry point for your team.
What is the WalletConnect Network and how does Connectivity work?
WalletConnect is the leading global connectivity network for wallets, banks, fintechs, financial institutions, DeFi, and agentic workflows. Connectivity provides an entry point for the network, offering a connection modal, multichain support, authentication and UX improvements as well as access to stablecoin or crypto payments and compliance tooling.
It connects apps, enterprises, institutions to 700+ wallet providers, and vice versa, via the the WalletConnect protocol—the leading connectivity protocol in the onchain ecosystem.
How Connectivity works for all participants
Connection through the protocol
An app connects to a wallet through the WalletConnect protocol. A session is established covering which chains, accounts and methods are in scope, and that session persists rather than breaking each time a user moves between contexts. The connection is handled by WalletConnect, so apps and institutions don’t need to build and maintain connections to hundreds of wallets, and wallets don’t need to work with thousands of apps to reach end-users.
The connection modal
With all types of network access, you also get the connection modal, a pre-built UI that allows end-users to connect to one of the 700+ retail, hardware and institutional wallets on the network. It also integrates seamlessly with social and email logins when enabled, allowing users to choose alternative methods to onboard or sign in.
Multichain support
Connections work across chains without chain-specific adapter work on your side. Coverage on the WalletConnect network itself supports: EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin, Sui, Stacks, TON, Tron, ADI Chain, Canton and Stellar, with more chains added periodically.
However, if you’re using pre-built modals inside the connectivity product (such as for onramps and swaps) they will only work on EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, TON & Tron chains.
Multichain authentication
WalletConnect’s multichain authentication gives one authentication flow across supported networks, so a single sign-in works regardless of which chain a user arrives on. This also forms the base of wallet verification, both in WalletConnect’s dedicated Wallet Verification product, and when an app or financial institution uses the WalletConnect Network’s authentication flow to build their own.
Domain Verification
The Verify API provides trust for the end-user of an app; allowing businesses to set verified domains so that Wallet providers can display whether end-users are connecting to the intended app’s official site or not using the connection modal.
If the website is legitimate, the connection modal will show a domain match. If the website does not match the domain verified by the Developer or Financial institution, the connection modal will either alert the user of a domain mismatch or unverified status. If the website the end-user connects to is flagged as malicious, they will be warned not to connect. This feature is available for all WalletConnect participants; as long as a wallet has set up the Verify API, and an app has verified their domain within their dashboard and integration, and end-user should see the verification tags in their connection modal.
What types of organizations can join the WalletConnect network?
There are two main types of access models for the WalletConnect network: wallets and businesses. Each have a specific method of entry and tools built for those organizations:
Wallets
The WalletConnect network already serves 700+ wallet providers—including retail, hardware and institutional wallets—across EVM, Solana, Stellar, ADI Chain, Canton and Stellar networks. By integrating a single SDK, wallet providers are able to use the WalletConnect protocol to reach the 80k apps active on the WalletConnect network.
Instead of a wallet having to worry about reach, distribution, and maintaining relationships and integrations with thousands of apps; all they need to do is integrate WalletConnect. Plus, there’s only a single integration for apps too, meaning a Wallet on the WalletConnect network is automatically available for any user on any app that supports the protocol—greatly improving a wallet provider’s reach and awareness with minimal effort.
If you’re building or running a wallet, be it a retail wallet, hardware wallet or institutional wallet, integrating WalletConnect Connectivity for wallets will help you reach more users with ease.

Businesses
The WalletConnect network also facilitates businesses to connect to 700+ wallets, including retail wallets such as MetaMask and Rabby, hardware wallets such as Ledger and Trezor, and Institutional wallets such as Fireblocks.
It offers advanced features for security and reliability for financial institutions such as guaranteed SLAs to ensure uptime, the capacity to move millions through the WalletConnect network, priority support, custom features and access to the WalletConnect’s stablecoin and crypto payments suite and compliance features.
It also serves small-scale businesses, agencies and start-ups pre-built modals and UI features to help them cut down time until production including modals for onramps and swaps, UX features and ready-made buttons and components for network switching, multiwallet linking and customizing your UI.
And it does all of that with a single integration: Connectivity for businesses.

Which Connectivity product and tier should I choose?
If you’re a wallet, you’ll choose the wallets product. But if you’re a developer, app, or institution, you’ll need Connectivity for businesses; of which there are different features available on different tiers
Stablecoin or Crypto Payments
If you want to integrate crypto and stablecoin payments features, you’ll get Connectivity for businesses alongside pre-built payment products such as accepting stablecoins in-store or online, processing crypto or stablecoin payouts, implementing crypto or stablecoin top-ups and deposits, or enabling agentic payments. If you already use one of these payment products, Connectivity for businesses is included as part of your package.
Compliance features
If you want to incorporate crypto compliance features into your app, institution or platform, such as Wallet Verification, necessary for VASPs processing crypto payouts to unhosted (self-custodial) wallets, or travel rule capture, necessary for VASPs to meet AML requirements, you will need Connectivity for businesses.
Pre-built UI features
If you’re a small scale app or haven’t yet launched and need basic pre-built modals and UI components that allow your users to onramp, swap or switch networks in-app, you’ll need Connectivity for businesses.
Reliability and Security
Running an enterprise-grade app means you need enterprise-grade reliability and security. All Connectivity products include the Verify API, which allows apps to verify their domains and allow end-users to see they are connecting to the legitimate app or not. Plus, on an enterprise Business connectivity plan, you can also get guaranteed SLAs to ensure uptime.
Priority and Dedicated Channels for Support
If you need help with your integration and to collaborate with WalletConnect’s product and engineering teams on shipping custom features and troubleshooting issues, you’ll need priority support, a dedicated channel to contact us and a single account manager to ensure your requests are handled as quickly as possible. In this case, you’ll need Connectivity for businesses.

The WalletConnect Network: Connecting Wallets & Businesses
Connecting to the onchain ecosystem used to mean building a separate integration for every wallet, app and chain you wanted to support, then maintaining all of them. Connectivity replaces that with one integration that reaches 700+ wallets and 80,000+ apps across all major blockchains. Persistent sessions, multichain authentication and the connection modal come included.
What comes next depends on what you’re building. Wallets connect their users to the app ecosystem without integrating apps one by one. Businesses get pre-built modals and UI components that shorten the road to production, with room to build custom features on top. Every WalletConnect product sits on top of Connectivity, so adding stablecoin and crypto Payments or Compliance later builds on what you already have instead of starting over.
Network Access FAQ
Does it include authentication?
Yes. Multichain authentication is included in all Connectivity products, but if you want to verify self-custodial wallet ownership, the Wallet Verification product gives you an end-to-end flow complete with a UI, configurable capture, reusable export-ready records and sanctions and IP screening.
Which chains are supported?
The WalletConnect network is chain agnostic, meaning you can add custom chains at will. But by default, the protocol supports: EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin, Sui, Stacks, TON, Tron, ADI Chain, Canton and Stellar, with more chains added periodically. For pre-built modals beyond connections (such as for onramps and swaps), EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, TON & Tron chains are supported.
Can we style the connection modal?
Yes, the connection modal allows customization of fonts and colors. Deeper customisation, theming and white-labelling is also available on specific tiers.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on your integration. For Wallets, integrating WalletConnect is free. For Businesses, there is a choice of tiers.
